JOIN BSC
Brompton Swimming Club is a developmental competitive swimming club that begins at the level described in Stage 8 of the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme. We will only select swimmers who can successfully meet specific entry criteria set by the club coaches.
Club ambitions are high and last year we had a record 12 swimmers who swam in the National Championships. The club regularly has medal winners at the Regional and County level.
To enter the club, a swimmer must be able to perform all four strokes, individual medley and complete timed swims of 200 metres. Swimmers also need to demonstrate a general understanding of starts, turns and finishes for all strokes.
The club is not a learn to swim organisation, though we will take talented swimmers from 8 years of age and work with them to develop their potential.

*Please note that all swimmers, regardless of age or skill level, must register their interest in attending a trial in order to be considered for club membership. If your swimmer is coming from another Swim England affiliated club or overseas equivalent, please contact our Head coach at [email protected] after registering your interest in attending a trial.
Selection
Following a trial, the Head coach will advise parents by email as to an appropriate squad allocation or a suggested teaching level within the learn-to-swim service provided by Virgin Active, at our home pool of Fulham Pools.
Strictly competitive
The club competes regularly and all swimmers aged 9 years and over are expected to compete in external and internal meets at the advice and recommendation of the Head and Lead coaches. At 10 years of age and above swimmers are expected to compete to County Championships.
Head coach discretion
All decisions are made at the discretion of the Head coach. The decision is based on adequate adherence to the pre-requisites above, attitude of the swimmer displayed during the trial and vacancies available within the club at the time of the trial.
Uni/Boarder membership
The club offers a Uni/Boarder membership to club level boarding school and university student swimmers who wish to train with a club over academic holidays. Swimmers need not be Brompton Swimming Club members to apply. Uni/Boarder swimmers are assigned a squad at the discretion of the Head coach.
